This insert raises low end torque while not sacrificing sound level. It does drop the high end horsepower level slightly on big inch motors (on smaller engines it doesn't affect hp) and changes the tone of the muffler a bit making it sound more like a deeper version of a Rinehart or RC muffler.
This is another good baffle that produces similar results with a different sound than the Performance Whistle baffle when adding big bore motor kits or cams

Completely redesigned in 2010, KW’s 3” HP-Plus® mufflers feature an upgraded baffle design and acoustical wrap materials in the slim and trim 3" diameter housing. Originally fiberglass wrapped, the redesigned baffle is machined wrapped with a laminated muffler packing consisting of a thin layer of stainless steel under high temperature basalt wool. This dual layer packing covers the complete length of the baffle, minimizing muffler body discoloration and absorbing the annoying higher frequencies while delivering an aggressive rumble. New one-piece shell eliminates the possibility of leaks and transition screws loosening or stripping.

These unique 4" HP-Plus® mufflers for Touring models from Khrome Werks are designed to produce excellent power while allowing the user control over their "rumble level". All new absorptive type baffles emit a deep, mellow exhaust tone that is adjustable by simply changing an insert held into the baffle by two bolts. The interchangeable baffle inserts delineate the performance or touring noise level options; and the ingenious design of the insert allows you to change the insert in minutes with hand tools (no hammers!).

These great-performing bagger headers are similar to the factory 2009 head pipes in that the left pipe crosses under the swing arm behind the transmission for a true-dual look, but a hidden inter-connect chamber improves low end torque and maximum top end horsepower while providing balanced flow and sound. Front pipe crosses over to the left side and is securely mounted to the transmission oil pan. System is made from 1¾” 16 gauge mandrel bent steel (cross-under pipe is formed obround from 1-7/8” tubing for increased ground clearance without cross-sectional area flow loss). Includes 220º full coverage heat shields, oxygen sensor ports and accepts any slip-on muffler designed for the factory head pipe.
