Co-designed by Zipper’s and Wiseco Engineering during the development of Zipper’s Muscle 110 kit, these powerful forged pistons have superior design features over the competition.

These pistons are forged from 2618 material and are designed to be strong, durable and light in weight – everything you need in a high performance piston! The dome design more closely conforms to the CVO 110 chamber shape for a tighter quench area, which improves combustion and power. The slipper design keeps the overall weight lean and mean. Two compression heights are available, allowing expanded camshaft compatibility and power goals over current offerings. Three oversizes extend the useful life of the 110″ cylinders.
Two special coatings are applied to these pistons. The skirts feature bonded ArmorGlideTM coating, a dry film lubricant applied to the piston skirt. This coating helps reduce friction, improves performance, and will also help quiet the piston in the cylinder bore. This coating is permanently applied, and is not a break-in coating; it is on the piston for the life of the part. ArmorPlatingTM is applied to the piston crown, ring grooves, and piston pin bore. This coating has several benefits to increase performance and durability. On the dome it helps protect the piston from the damage caused by detonation, and will actually harden over time from the heat caused by combustion. Applied to the ring grooves, it helps eliminate micro-welding of the ring, improves wear of the ring groove along with improving ring seal. This coating in the piston pin bore improves wear, reduces friction, and eliminates material deformation of the lock ring groove. This coating has been used successfully on Wiseco’s XR-750 racing pistons for years; Zipper’s decided to bring this technology into the design of the pistons for the Muscle 110” kit, considering the added heat and stress a high performing CVO engine creates.
