The Hammer 883-1200 kit the middle kid in our 1200 Sportster®
family, sort of the rowdy teenager. It has lots of energy, likes to stay out late
and possesses the ability to raise some hell!
The 883 cylinders are precision bored to 1200 and fitted with forged pistons,
while the heads receive larger, high flowing stainless valves (1.715"/1.480"),
Step-Lock guides and a competition valve job with springs to match. Red
Shift 567 cams are fitted to your factory cam gears; adjustable moly
pushrods, a telescoping pushrod cover kit and a full top end/cam gasket set
allows quick work of the re-assembly.
Our fully adjustable (pre-programmed) ignition is supplied, along with our
HPCV carb upgrade magic to your factory CV carb. Zipper's High Flow air
cleaner makes sure heavy breathing is no problem. Kits for 2004-up models
include a clutch spring to replace the standard light-duty 883 unit.
This kit is easy to install; its moderate compression ratio lets it start easy,
keep temperature in check and run well on pump high-test gas. It's
very reliable and really makes the Sportster® very Sporty indeed!

These kits are available from any Zipper's Performance Products dealer,
or you can send your carefully packed parts directly to Zipper's. The Hammer
kit requires modification to your cylinders, heads, cams and carburetor. Your
original 883 parts are modified and returned to you, ready for installation.
In-shop time is generally 1-2 weeks. 1991-1999 models include Powerglide
lifters. Please pack your parts carefully!
Expert installation of this product is available at Zipper’s facility in Elkridge, Maryland. Transportation of your motorcycle to and from Zipper’s can be arranged if desired. Please call a sales representative for details.
